Thermal management for immersion cooled batteries

One of the key development areas in battery electric vehicle powertrains is the battery thermal management system (BTMS). The BTMS helps to maintain the optimum temperature range of the traction battery. Today’s systems primarily use base plate cooling systems to control battery temperature. However, these systems are limited in their heat rejection capability. Immersion cooling is a promising technology that can provide significant benefits as battery thermal management.
