Bosch Powernet Guardian

Bosch powernet guardian

With increasing electrification of vehicle functions, the complexity and susceptibility to faults in the vehicle electrical system is continuously increasing.

The Powernet Guardian from Bosch is a holistic concept for the vehicle electrical system. It ensures that safety-related functions in the vehicle are available at all times. An electronic isolating switch separates the safety-related electrical system from the rest of the (standard) consumers in the event of a fault. These are protected from undervoltage or overvoltage, and a malfunction or reduction in function is prevented. With a high depth of predictive diagnostics, it promptly detects safety-critical supply gaps, immediately isolates faulty paths, and safeguards the energy supply with hardware redundancies. Ensuring that energy is supplied reliably will also play a central in future E/E architectures and for automated driving.

driving safety powernet guardian

Scalable concept with best system cost
Powernet Guardian functionality replaces hardware (e.g., backup energy storage)
“Intelligent redundancy”
Fewer recalls and lower repair costs caused by electrical issues

Reduced risk of accidents caused by loss of safety-related functions (e.g., electric power steering, brakes, lights, wipers)
