Motor Hub Unit with Variable-Pitch Propeller Mechanism

This Motor hub supports the rotation of the propeller and adjusts the tilt of each blades to change the direction of thrust.

Prototype motor hub made with NSK’s angular contact ball bearings, thrust needle bearings, ball screws, and other NSK products. The unit features an NSK ball screw to achieve excellent motion accuracy and high efficiency.

This motor hub unit enables the thrust to be increased or decreased in maintaining the same motor size, so contributes to power saving and motor downsizing. And It increases the thrust response speed as well when stabilizing the body.

Motor speed control type flying car designs require greater thrust to maintain flight attitude, and take longer to stabilize.

NSK’s variable pitch design uses less thrust, and allows for highly responsive and stable control of flight attitude.
