The legendary “Roaring Raindrop” MG EX181. This iconic vehicle, known for setting an unparalleled speed record of 410.5 km/h in 1959, held its ground until 2014 before the record was surpassed by Bugatti.
Commemorating its historical achievements in “land speed” records, the launch of the electric supercar MG EXE181 by MG’s London Advanced Design Center.
The MG electric supercar concept EXE181 aims for a top speed of 415km/h coupled with a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.181. In the future, with a zero to hundred acceleration expected to be less than 1 second. MG EXE181 is designed by SAIC Motor UK Advanced Design Center.
you are all aware that we all have the internet right?
“The Sledgehammer proved its mettle by shuttling John Lingenfelter from Old Lyme, Connecticut to the 7.5-mile oval at Transportation Research Center in East Liberty, Ohio—a trek of nearly 700 miles—before, on October 26, 1988, laying down its record-setting top-speed of 254.76 mph with him behind the wheel.”
that is to say, a basic modified street car from the 80s. was driven 700 miles to a race track.
and proceeded to obtain 254.76mph on a close track. and then driven back to CT.
meanwhile the rest of the world has been resting on the laurels of some trailer-queen they made
for the salt-flats in the 50s…
and now want to say they will ‘rekindle’ that ‘spirit’ with an electric car.
that will go all of 18miles at race speeds before need 10hrs of battery charge.
the comedy ensues.
