To ensure vehicles can stay up to date for their entire life cycle through continuous software updates, Continental collaborates with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and offers the Continental Automotive Edge Framework (CAEdge). It is a modular hardware and software framework that connects a vehicle to the cloud and provides developers with the possibility to create, test and deploy software functions in a highly efficient way.
Modular and scalable computer platform. By replacing different pluggable SOM systems, it can become HPC in different functional domains, such as ADAS, Body, ADAS+Cockpit. CAEdge provides a high-performance development environment that supports all steps of automotive software development.
The CAEdge Framework is based on three building blocks:
- Scalable Compute Platform – high performance embedded computer with automotive SW
- Cloud – Cloud services for developer and end-user
- DevOps Workbench – Toolchain for automotive software development and maintenance
