The 48 V electrical power-pack (EPK) serves as an electric motor for electric drives in hybrid vehicles. It has integrated power electronics. The electrical power-pack and power electronics are liquid-cooled and heat-protected.
Via an inverter, the electric motor converts electric energy from the battery into mechanical energy and transfers the torque to the wheels via the transmission unit. When braking, the EPK converts mechanical energy into electric energy for re-charging the vehicle battery.
