Marelli Automotive Lighting equips the new Mercedes-Benz EQS with full-LED and digital LED headlights bringing the high-definition light into series.
With the energy consumption of only 19 Watt in the low beam and additional 15 Watt in the high beam, the energy-oriented basic version of the headlamp offers a very good light performance and luminous range. The headlamps use an all LED reflection system.
Available as option, the intelligent projection system encompasses an LED matrix module supplemented by the digital module h-Digi®. Digital light opens fully new possibilities of optimizing road illumination by shaping the light and extending assisting functions. The system allows for generation of such adaptive functions as dynamic curve light or glare-free high beam. The digital module h-Digi with its 1.3 million pixels per headlamp provides a very fine light modulation in all lighting functions and projects warning and assisting symbols on the road right in front of the car. In this way, the driver is warned of recognized roadworks or of being about to ignore a stop sign or a red light. A digital spotlight is aimed to pedestrians if they are detected at the roadside in order to warn both, the pedestrians and the driver. These and more digital light functions significantly enhance the traffic safety.
