Maserati MC20 Cielo Folgore Rolling Chassis

Maserati MC20 Cielo Rolling Chassis

Carbon monocoque, derived from the MC20 ICE coupé, designed by Maserati engineers with the support of Dallara. The monocoque’s architecture and geometry are the same for all three versions but differ in the distribution of the carbon fiber and layers, to provide the monocoques with different structural characteristics for the three different types of cars: the focus for the coupé will be on lightness and performance; the convertible demands greater torsional rigidity due to the absence of a roof; the electric version will have more overall strength and enhanced protection for the battery area. Therefore, a single design embraces the three versions, with changes only in the type, quantity, and arrangement of the carbon fiber.

MC20 Cielo Folgore Chassis

High-voltage battery: 100% developed by Maserati Innovation Lab engineers, made up of ultra-fast cells and with 800V electrical architecture. Derived from the Maserati GT/GC but with a compact and outstanding layout to optimize the vehicle weight distribution and to place the battery in the vehicle’s rear side rather than a combustion engine ensuring uncompromising style and architectural changes compared to the ICE version.

Electric high-performance motors for a unique technical solution in its segment: one at the front axle and two at the rear axle, ensuring AWD transmission and full torque vectoring via an innovative vehicle control system.
