With conventional subframes made of metal, Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging (WEVC) currently takes the form of an induction coil as a screw-on solution. The FRP of the hybrid front subframe, in contrast, permits transmission of electromagnetic fields. This enables the WEVC to be directly integrated into the FRP lower shell without additional components or mounts. The aluminum upper shell already serves as a shield for electromagnetic tolerance (EMC shielding).
