The new solution from Cognata and Xylon allows photorealistic HIL operation early in the product development lifecycle to accelerate and reduce the risk of ADAS and AV Validation and Verification. Xylon’s logiRECORDER Automotive HIL Video Logger uses data from Cognata’s real-time photorealistic simulation platform to provide the inputs to test ADAS and AV systems.
Another innovation enabled by the Cognata-Xylon partnership is “real-time closed-loop HIL”. In “real-time closed-loop HIL” mode ECU outputs are converted into simulation inputs that interactively drive the target vehicle (Ego car) in the simulated scenarios – eliminating the limitations of pre-recorded HIL data.
The Cognata simulation is fed directly to Xylon’s logiRECORDER, removing the hassle of complex hardware integration and improving the signal quality compared to other solutions.
Xylon’s logiRECORDER improves and accelerates the design and testing of cutting-edge Autonomous Driving and ADAS Systems with an all-in-one automotive data logger for raw multi-channel video and network data recording, data analysis, and playback of the logged data in HIL workbenches.
In the HIL operation mode, the logiRECORDER enables real-time feeding of synthetic data from multiple and heterogenous vehicle sensors modeled within Cognata’s simulation platform, including video cameras, LIDARs, RADARs, GPS, and more, as physical automotive sensory inputs to hardware Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
