When the brake pedal is actuated, the control unit calculates the driver’s braking request via integrated sensors. The integrated power brake decouples both braking circuits from the brake pedal and establishes the connection to the pedal feel simulator.
At the same time, the control unit calculates the drive signals for the electric motor. The electric motor generates the movement of the hydraulic piston via a gear unit. The resulting hydraulic pressure is transferred to the wheel brakes via the brake fluid.
