Deflector devices are attached to the vehicle wherever the flow path has to be influenced in such a way that additional aerodynamic functions are implemented that cannot be achieved with the basic shape of the vehicle or can only be achieved with little efficiency.
Essentially, these are components that generate downforce. The components are characterized by a low material thickness, possibly with rounded front edges and sharp end edges. In addition to their primary effect on the vehicle, they also serve to adjust the downforce and drag in order to adapt the aerodynamic operating point to the respective operating conditions.
